Plain English summary: Use the service fairly. We'll provide it reliably. Either party can end the relationship at any time. No auto-renewal surprises.

The Basics

MenuPlan.pro ("we", "us", "the Service") is a web application for menu planning and catering event management. By using our service, you agree to these terms.

Accounts

Creating an Account

You need a Google account to sign up
One person per account (no sharing accounts)
You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure
You must be at least 16 years old to use this service

Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may terminate accounts that:

Violate these terms
Abuse the service or other users
Attempt to circumvent payment
Use the service for illegal purposes

We'll give reasonable notice before termination unless there's an urgent security concern.

Billing & Subscriptions

Our commitment: No surprise charges. No auto-renewal by default. No dark patterns designed to make you forget to cancel.

Free Tier

The free tier is genuinely free, forever. No credit card required. No time limits. Limited features, but no tricks.

Paid Subscriptions

Billed monthly via Stripe
Prices shown exclude any applicable taxes
You can cancel at any time
Access continues until the end of your billing period

Our Auto-Renewal Policy

This is important, so we're making it clear:

No automatic renewal by default. When you subscribe, your subscription will NOT automatically renew unless you explicitly opt in.
Opt-in renewal is capped. If you choose auto-renewal, it will renew monthly for a maximum of 12 months. After 12 months, you must actively choose to continue.
We remind you. We'll email you before any renewal charge, giving you time to make a decision.
Cancel anytime. One click cancels auto-renewal. No phone calls, no retention specialists, no guilt.

Refunds

First 30 days: Full refund if you're not satisfied, no questions asked
After 30 days: We don't offer partial refunds for unused time, but we'll work with you on a case-by-case basis
Billing errors: Always refunded promptly

Price Changes

If we change prices:

We'll give at least 30 days notice
Your current billing period will complete at the old price
You can cancel before the new price takes effect

AI Features

Heads up: AI features are included in your subscription today. However, AI API costs are unpredictable. If costs increase significantly, we may need to offer AI as a separate add-on or allow you to bring your own API key. We'll always give advance notice of any changes.

How AI Works

AI menu suggestions are generated by Google's Gemini API
Suggestions are recommendations, not guarantees
Always verify allergen information independently
AI may occasionally produce unexpected results

Your Responsibility

You are ultimately responsible for the menus you serve. AI suggestions should be reviewed and verified, especially for allergen safety. We provide tools to help, but the final decision is yours.

Your Data

Ownership

You own your data. Period. We have a license to store and process it to provide the service, but it's yours.

Export

You can export your entire database at any time. It's a standard SQLite file you can use anywhere.

Deletion

When you delete your account, we delete your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Acceptable Use

Don't use MenuPlan.pro to:

Break the law
Harass or harm others
Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages
Attempt to access others' accounts or data
Overload or attack our systems
Scrape or harvest data
Resell the service without permission

Service Availability

What We Aim For

We strive for high availability and reliability. The app works offline, so you're not dependent on our servers being up at all times.

What We Don't Guarantee

Like all software, sometimes things break. We don't guarantee:

100% uptime (though we aim high)
Specific response times
That bugs won't exist
That features won't change

Maintenance

We'll try to schedule maintenance during low-usage periods and give notice when possible.

Intellectual Property

Our Stuff

The MenuPlan.pro name, logo, software, and design are ours. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute them.

Your Stuff

Your content (events, menus, data) remains yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you create.

Open Source

We may open-source parts of the codebase in the future. If we do, those parts will be under their own open-source licenses.

Liability

Food Safety

MenuPlan.pro is a planning tool. We are not responsible for:

Food preparation or handling
Allergic reactions or dietary incidents
Decisions made based on AI suggestions

Always verify allergen information independently and follow proper food safety practices.

General Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

The service is provided "as is"
We disclaim warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months
We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Disputes

If you have a dispute with us:

Email us first at support@menuplan.pro. Most issues can be resolved quickly.
If we can't resolve it informally, disputes will be handled under the laws of [Your Jurisdiction].

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally
Significant changes will be announced via email and in-app notice
Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms
If you disagree with changes, you can close your account and request a prorated refund
